Desk Top Building Assessor

UBS is currently we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Desk Top Building Assessor for a permanent position.

This role is office based at Carrum Downs.  In this role you will be working with insured and other trades across  Melbourne from your office desk.

You  will be  investigate the cause of loss or damage, quantifying the repairs as well as determining the best method of repair, estimating the cost of repair and report writing.

This role requires the person to have a keen eye for detail when assessing and analysing claims.

Essential Attributes:

  • Must be of a trade background and excellent knowledge of the construction industry, (housing repairs)
  • Report writing abilities.
  • Background of producing accurate priced scopes of works
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and conflict resolution
  • Must have insurance experience

Work Health Safety/Return To Work Officer

UBS is seeking an assertive and forward-thinking Work Health Safety/Return To Work Officer to join our team at our Carrum Downs Head Office.

We are experiencing ongoing growth and are looking for a hands-on, proactive WHS/RTW Officer to work with Management and our Sub-contract trade network.

You will be responsible for further developing, implementing, maintaining, managing and updating all aspects of the RTW / WHS framework across the entire business and its day-to-day operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified WHS/ RTW practitioner, clearly experienced in and conversant with infrastructure construction activities who enjoys working in a very fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Ensure compliance with WHS legal obligations, industry standards and Australian standards;
  • Writing and keeping current SWMS, RTW and Risk Assessments;
  • Implementing, maintaining and updating the current Safety Management System;
  • Inducting new personnel to the organisation and to sites;
  • Training site personnel in WHS requirements;
  • Building a Safety First, without compromising culture;
  • Reporting to the Director, Incident investigation and emergency management; and document management

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Formal qualifications in both WHS and RTW;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Information Technology skills;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislation and standards;
  • A hands-on approach;
  • Strong analytical skills and be able to interpret data, information, legislation and regulations
  • Previous exposure to the construction sector and high-risk work is essential

Senior Project Manager

UBS is seeking an assertive and forward thinking Senior Project Manager at our Carrum Down office.

This role is ideal for someone who is coming off the tools and who is interested in working in a fantastic team environment.

As Senior Project Manager you will work closely with stakeholders, consultants, local authorities, surveyors, builders, sub-contractors, property owners and insurance companies.

This is to ensure that essential projects are provided on best building trade services to residential homes that require repair under the domestic insurance claim process.

The Senior Project Manager is required to:

  • The appointing and supervision of sub-contractors and trades
  • Liaising with insurance company assessors, homeowners, and internal support staff
  • Tracking work progress
  • On-site Inspections
  • Monitoring of scope works and variations
  • Successfully manage customer expectations and complaints.
  • Have a thorough residential construction knowledge and experience
  • Must have trade qualification or a degree in Engineering – hands on experience is a must
  • Preferred candidate would have a good understanding of insurance company processes and policies
  • Possess exceptional people skills
  • Hold a current drivers licence
  • Be efficient with your time management
  • Have sound administration skills
  • Possess outstanding communication skills including the ability to provide authoritative advice to internal and external parties and develop professional communication material.
  • Be self-motivated and able to use your initiative
