COMPANY PROFILE

Unique Building Services was incorporated on the 3rd March 1999 and commenced operation with four employees. Since inception, Unique’s growth has been steady and successful.

Bendos was established by John Williams in 1975, and had undertaken numerous home maintenance, repairs and project management contracts, including Insurance and Assessing and repair work. John Williams retired from Unique Building Services in June 2008.

Birkdale Building Services commenced in 1994 and was established by Tony Pickles, undertaking building maintenance contracts at the State Library of Victoria, the Museum of Victoria, Scienceworks and carried out Insurance Assessing and building repair work. Unique’s Director Tony Pickles, commenced work in the building industry in 1982, gaining carpentry trade qualifications in 1985. Many years of building claim assessments and repairs means that Tony is well versed in all aspects of the domestic insurance repair industry.

Unique is also served well by Kylie Cameron our Finance Manager who have worked for the Company since its inception.

In 2002, Unique expanded its operation into Regional Victoria and opened up our Shepparton Office which initially managed the Bendigo, Wangaratta, Wodonga and Shepparton areas. We have since expanded our operations to cover Mildura and Swan Hill regions also.

We are supported in Regional Victoria by our satellite operations in Bendigo, Mildura and Wodonga.

In September 2003 our Management team set up operations interstate, with our Brisbane Office being launched, and after a move or two, we are now well established in Willawong.

With further growth throughout the outskirts of Melbourne Metro, we launched an office in Geelong on the 19th June 2012.

Our Victorian and Queensland Offices have seen expansion and growth as a direct result of the addition of the Clients that we have formalised relationships with. Further to that, we have employed additional staff due to the increased volumes of work that we manage, to ensure that we provide the service that each Client requires under their individual Service Level Agreement.

Over time we have significantly increased our Claims Administration and Project Management Teams, to ensure that we continue to improve our own expected high standards of Customer Service.

In 2013 we have diversified our business and while domestic insurance work will always be our core business we are also now contracted to various government agencies and local councils to carry out maintenance and repairs on homes, commercial premises, and schools.  In 2014 we were successful with our tender for the Department of Education and Defence Housing Australia.  We have also received a Certificate of Pre-Qualification, in Queensland, with a PQC Rating of Level 2.

Furthermore Unique Building Services will quote on repairs, renovations or maintenance for private domestic dwellings.

We regularly hold Sub-Contractor Trade Seminars, to reinforce our requirements in regards to expected levels of Customer Service and Quality of Building Repairs. We know that this proactive, positive approach ensures we remain at the forefront of our industry.

Our flexibility has proven invaluable during catastrophes both in Queensland and Victoria. Following the devastation of the Black Saturday Bushfires in February 2009, we are proud to have completed a significant number of major and partial loss claims in Kinglake, Flowerdale, Wandong, Marysville and Bendigo.

We will continue to strive for improvement and excellence in all that we do.
